John Harvey, a licensed CPA in the state of California, is the firm’s founder and continues as a professional consultant for the firm. Mr. Harvey holds a Masters in Business Taxation (MBT) and a bachelor of science degree in Accounting from the University of Southern California Leventhal School of Accounting, consistently ranked in the top five US accounting schools. He began his career in 1989 with the Beverly Hills office of Ernst & Young as a tax consultant to high-net-worth celebrities including Johnny Carson, Bill Cosby, Janet Jackson, Walter Matthau, and Larry Hagman. The firm is a member of the California Society of CPA’s, and Mr. Harvey is a committee member for the American Citizens Abroad Professional Tax Advisory Council.
In 1992, Mr. Harvey worked as a tax consultant for Price Waterhouse in Moscow, Russia, at a time when many multinational firms were entering the Russian market. He also worked as a Senior Manager with Deloitte & Touché in Los Angeles. Mr. Harvey opened the Moscow office of ExpatCPA in 1995, the first CPA firm opened in Russia outside of the Big Five firms; we also opened an affiliate office in Los Cabos, Mexico. Over the years we have been successful in providing expatriate tax and accounting services to Americans and other foreign nationals living in Europe, Asia, Russia, and the Middle East, with special emphasis on personal income tax services.
